2. Assign photos to a plot

iOnly plots registered on this development appear here. Add new plots under Plots & map.

3. Output options

Assigned plot GPS is always embedded in exported JPEGs. Original camera and location metadata is removed. Export requires valid saved coordinates for the selected plot.

Save to iPhone Photos

Prepare individual watermarked JPEGs, then open the iPhone share sheet. Choose Save Images if it appears. Safari may not offer this option on every iOS version.

Requires Safari on a secure (HTTPS) website. Your images remain on your device.

If Save Images is missing: use Download ZIP above, unzip it in Files, select the JPEGs and tap Share → Save Images.

JPEG OUTPUT

Control the filename pattern and JPEG compression applied when you export a batch.

Every exported JPEG has its original EXIF and camera metadata removed, then receives the GPS coordinates and plot identifier of the assigned registered plot. The new EXIF date/time is when you tap Export or Prepare JPEGs for iPhone. Your source photo is never modified.

PLOTTAG v1.11 PROTOTYPE • Local-first • Imagery services require internet access • For test use only

About this prototype

PlotTag processes your images entirely in your browser. Photo files are not uploaded to a server.

Site names, plot pins and filename counters are saved in this browser’s local storage. Export a JSON backup if you need to keep them.

For the buttons to work, open the downloaded HTML in a real browser rather than a static preview. For live GPS on an iPhone, host the site using HTTPS and allow Precise Location in Safari. Plot registration now requires coordinates; assigning photo watermarks still works without registering any plot. Maps and satellite imagery require internet access.

On iPhone, ZIP exports appear in Files/Downloads, not Photos. The new iPhone share option attempts to open iOS sharing for individual JPEGs, but Safari may omit Save Images; in that case unzip the ZIP in Files and use Share → Save Images. Exports are new JPEG files. The app always embeds the selected registered plot’s GPS coordinates and plot ID as new EXIF and stamps the new JPEG with the export/prepare time. Original GPS, camera, lens, date/time and other input metadata are discarded. Always verify exported evidence before relying on it.
